The OEA recognizes that we are only now returning to competition season in Ontario with new guidelines and protocols. Governments, and sport organizations have worked hard to allow competitions to run and local organizers are still assessing whether sanctioned events can be offered in a safe environment, yet viable for their business. We also appreciate that competitors are taking stock of their current readiness and their ability and willingness to enter events.
Given the uncertainties, and that a level playing field would not be achievable for all competitors this season, the OEA regretfully has decided to suspend leaderboards for the 2020 season, for the purposes of awarding year-end placings and prizing. This is similar to the approach taken by EC for Hunter/Jumper points and programs for 2020. In addition the OEA has also voted to cancel the 2020 Year End Banquet. The 2020 AGM will take place virtually, with details to follow later in the year.
